Plage Tahiti, the sassy younger sister to Chestnut Street's Knit Wit, will close at the end of June. But wait! There's good news: Knit Wit will absorb the store (including all inventory and employees) to create a comprehensive flagship shop. Even more good news: To gear up for the move, Plage Tahiti will discount its inventory by 60%—90% beginning Friday, April 11.
Store owner Ann Gitter tells us she's excited for the change, especially as the concept will most closely evoke the feel of Knit Wit's popular Margate, New Jersey, location, which stocks resort and swimwear by Marc Jacobs and Alice & Olivia in addition to contemporary women's apparel. "I feel I have to make my store more fun and younger," she says. The merge will be a done deal come July 1.
