Here's another way to kill time while waiting for your flight at PHL: The airport is now the first in the U.S. to offer travelers free access to in-terminal stationary bikes, a sort of experimental program with potential to become permanent.
Replacing the white wooden rocking chairs that used to gently rock the sedentary in Terminal C, the bulk of the 30 bikes are low-tech, geriatric-approved sitNcycles—essentially a bike seat with pedals. A handful of better-equipped elliptical bikes appeal to die-harders keen on offending their cabinmates with their post-workout glow. Either way, a spin on the bikes will help burn off that 5,000-calorie Pumpkin Cream Cheese French Toast Bagel Blaster from Gross Airport Food Cafe.
