With over twenty years' experience in architecture and interior design under his belt, Philadelphia artist Conrad Booker is branching out into the world of fashion design with his new line of handbags. This season's collection is dubbed HARDWEAR, and with good reason: every bag incorporates some element taken from a hardware store—think beaded tassels, chains, and metal rings. In addition, the bags reflect a quirky interplay of materials: "There's a yin and yang to it all," says a release. "Substantial metal chains balanced by soft silk interiors. Strong shapes that hug your body. Tough leather balanced by silky tassels. Black exterior opening to bright floral interior." We're especially psyched that the entire line is designed and made by hand, here in Philadelphia.
