In town to promote her new book, My Year in Meals, celeb chef Rachael Ray stopped into Omoi Zakka Shop on Saturday for some Japan-infused holiday shopping. Liz Sieber, owner of the Pine Street store (which stocks toys, stationery, and personal accessories with a Japanese pop culture influence) gives us the inside scoop:
Rachael said she has a family friend with a Japan connection and had to stop over. She picked out a bunch of great presents, but I love that she included our silly Japanese Kuchipaku Stuffed Animal Speaker ($72)—a little penguin that sings and dances along to your music. It was such a treat to get to meet her!
Update: A reader just informed us that Rachael was also spotted shopping at Midtown housewares/gift boutique Open House.
