Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Racked Philly has arrived!
We've been chomping at the bit to get this thing off the ground, and with good reason: Philly's shopping and retail scene is so rich, so diverse, so on-the-brink-of-something-fantastic, that we almost feel like we're keeping a secret—and we are terrible at keeping secrets. We're just dying to tell you about the very best sales, the newest under-the-radar designers, and the latest retailers to scoop up space on Walnut Street.
We hope you share our love of local retail and fashion, Dear Reader, because Racked Philly is nothing without you. Notice a new boutique in your 'hood? Tell us. Spot a Standard Poodle in the bathroom at the Rittenhouse Barnes and Noble? Take a photo (we wish we had!). From the straightforward to the wacky, we want to hear from you. Hit the tipline at philly@racked.com. This is the start of something epic.
A little about me, Racked Philly editor Julie Davis: I'm a lifelong Philadelphia resident; I have a penchant for buying the same pair of black heeled boots over and over; and I have a serious sweet tooth. My resume includes writing for sites like DailyCandy, SheKnows, and The Feast (Eater Philly's Collin Flatt was a colleague) but I'm happiest in front of a jam-packed sale rack—the messier, the better.
Today also marks the launch of Racked sites in San Francisco and Boston ; show them some love when you get a sec.
