Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We've received a few notes on our Facebook page and via email requesting that we look into the possibility of Kate Spade and/or Jack Spade and Scotch & Soda opening store locations in Center City. While we've yet to hear back from the powers-that-be at Scotch & Soda, we did receive a response from the higher-ups at Kate Spade—but don't get too excited: "We don't have anything planned for Philadelphia right now" was their response. Welp, there ya have it.

Moving on. We also heard whispers that Nordstrom Rack is scouting locations downtown (the old Daffy's building, maybe?), so we put in an inquiry. The answer, in a word: Maybe. "While we don't have anything definitive to share, we'd love to serve more customers in Philadelphia and we're looking at opportunities to do just that," says our contact at the Rack. We'll keep you updated, but in the meantime, check out the stores confirmed to be opening soon in our city.
