On Sunday, Ardmore's upscale flea, Clover Market, is coming to Philly for its first-ever Winter Market. The 23rd Street Armory will host the event, which will see 55 new and returning vendors of vintage and handmade wares, antiques, and artwork, plus DIY workshops and food trucks.
Market founder Janet Gardner Long has a three tips for market newbies: 1) Ask lots of questions. "This is not like buying a piece of furniture from a catalog, so take advantage and really get to know what makes the items so special," she says. 2) Act fast. "The one-of-a-kind pieces might be gone later if you wait to buy them." 3) Cash is king, but "Bring your credit cards (most of our vendors accept them), plus comfortable shoes, and enjoy!"
