This just in: Our contact at Nordstrom Rack tells us that a store location is definitely in the works for Philadelphia. To be located at 1700 Chestnut Street, the 39,000-square-foot store will open in the fall of 2014. "We intend to bring our very best—exciting fashion from brands our customers love at great prices—to make the most of this opportunity to serve customers at the heart of Center City," says Nordstrom Rack president Geevy Thomas.
The off-price retail division of Nordstrom will open within the first three floors of the space most recently occupied by Daffy's. The Chestnut Street store will mark Nordstrom Rack's first Center City Philadelphia location; area stores exist in King of Prussia and Cherry Hill.
