Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
RackedWire is our look at shopping events and other happenings around town. Got an item for us? Operators are standing by at philly@racked.com.
WEST PHILLY—West Philly gift shop VIX Emporium is partnering with the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology to present Gifts in the Gallery, a two-day shop-able craft show. Held within the museum's Kintner and Dietrich galleries and the Widener Lecture Hall, the fair will offer over 50 (mostly) locals vendors, peddling everything from letterpress stationery, home textiles, and handcrafted apparel to pottery, homemade soaps, baby gifts, and fine art. Admission to the fair is free; check it out Friday, November 15, from 4pm to 7pm, or Saturday, November 16, 10am to 5pm. (If you attend the craft show on Saturday, you'll score $5 off the cost a museum ticket.) [Racked Inbox]
OLD CITY—Get up close and personal with the makers of Brooklyn's Mast Brothers Chocolate at Art in the Age on Friday, November 15, from 6pm to 8pm. The "pioneers of the bean-to-bar craft chocolate movement" will be signing their new cookbook, Mast Brothers Chocolate: A Family Cookbook, while High Street On Market will serve chocolate pastries. Better still, event-goers can sip spiked hot chocolate made with Art In The Age Snap liquor and Mast Brothers chocolate topped with Spodee Wine marshmallows from ZynnieBakes. [RackedWire]
