Lush Cosmetics' new spa concept, Lush Spa, is coming to Philly in January 2014. And aren't we lucky? Following a location in New York City, Philadelphia's Lush Spa, opening within the beauty chain's existing 1525 Walnut Street location, will mark only the second Lush Spa to open in North America.
The vibe will be decidedly "traditional English spa," replete with jars of fresh flowers, old books on the shelves, and mismatched vintage tea cups the container of choice for post-treatment sips. As for the spa menu, seven treatments will be offered—a body scrub and foot soak, meditative sound therapy, and massages—each accompanied by a custom soundtrack.
All seven treatments promise an out-of-body, transcendental spa experience of sorts, but the 80-minute signature Synaesthesia massage sounds especially wild, an exploration of all five senses wherein the client's desired emotional state is evoked through changing mood-lighting and custom scents and music. Stay tuned for updates.
