Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

After shuttering its South Fourth Street location last fall, Nocturnal is getting ready to relaunch. In April, the skate shop will re-open, this time at 533 South Street, in a new space that's directly next door to The Mood and across the street from Retrospect.

Nocturnal first debuted in 2000 by pro skateboarder/X Games gold medalist Kerry Getz, but this time around, Getz will parter with Philly-area skate shop Kinetic. "This new partnership will bring their expertise on all of the bill paying, ordering type stuff so I can put all of my focus on my skateboard and not day to day stuff that comes along with owning a business ," the store owner said in an interview last year.
