Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
This is by far East Falls' only coolest shop-in-shop: Colors by Padmini has brought its candy-colored, handmade Indian textiles to Material Culture, a 60,000-square-foot home store known for its authentic, globally-sourced decor and furnishings.
If you're not afraid of a little color, then Padmini is your bag. Expect vintage Indian saris and antique, sequined bridal dresses, plus a range of more modern apparel, accessories, and jewelry—in every color under the sun. The shop-in-shop also offers home decor items (poufs, iridescent window treatments, pillows), and for the do-it-yourself crowd, there's authentic raw materials and Indian fabric by-the-yard.
