Arcadia Boutique to Shutter Its Rittenhouse Location

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Arcadia's Rittenhouse Square location is closing for good mid-May, but before you break out your mourning shroud, here's the silver lining: Beginning Friday, May 3, the 265 South 20th Street store will hold a huge clearance sale, which means awesome discounts on the indie boutique's inventory of women's apparel and shoes from Mary Meyer, Prairie Underground, Dolce Vita, BB Dakota, and Greylin, Vanessa Mooney, and more.

More tidbits for you optimists: Arcadia's Northern Liberties store will expand its inventory of vintage apparel and will up its selection of menswear. What's more, store owner Ali McCloud is initiating a collaboration with the Narberth-based interior design studio Design6, which will debut a second studio location within Arcadia's NoLibs store. Expect everything from a library of wallpaper and fabrics to full scale interior design services.
