Hottest Trainer Contestant #7: Melissa Weinberg

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to Racked Philly's search for Philadelphia's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile eight smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite (polls open Monday, August 19). Let the games begin!

She has a degree from Penn and a serious-sounding title of Director of Operations at Lithe Method, but Melissa Weinberg isn't pushing papers behind a desk. The former Junior Olympics gymnast balances her managerial role at Lithe Method by doubling as an instructor, sweating alongside her clients during Lithe's wildly popular resistance band workouts. "Being active is second nature to me, and I love to move my body!" says the trainer.

Outside of class, you'll find Weinberg in the kitchen experimenting with all kinds of recipes and ingredients—except for one. "I'm severely allergic to corn," she reveals, "but I consider my allergy to be one of my biggest life blessings. It kept me away from soda, candy, sugary cereals, and other processed foods as a kid, and now I don't have any taste for those unhealthy items as an adult."
