Good news for those who still appreciate the charm of written correspondence: Old City gift and stationery boutique The Papery of Philadelphia is coming to Midtown Village. After spending a decade Old City, The Papery will shutter its 57 North Third Street store and debut a brand-new location at 1217 Locust Street, which will also function as a custom design studio for invitations. The new location is slated to open in early October.
As it preps for the big move, The Papery is holding a massive clearance sale, offering 70% off cards, stationery, frames, candles, journals, and pretty little things, like ribbons and gift wrap.
Update: Owner Carolyn Brandhorst adds the following:
We are excited to move into Midtown Village, such a vibrant and upcoming area, because it will put us right in the heart of the city surrounded by some great neighborhoods. Additionally, the new space better fits our needs. So much of what we do relies on truly understanding what the customer wants. To better serve our clients, our new store will have larger designated areas for these one-on-one design consultation services and personalization products. Yet, our best-sellers and items we've become known for will still be carried in our new retail space. We view our new space as a chance for us to allow both sides of our personality to shine through.
