Those whispers about Burberry Walnut Street's impending closure are true, apparently. Store associates tell us that the British label's last day on Rittenhouse Row is Saturday, January 18, and no, the store won't be offering any discounts leading up to the closing date.
Over on NakedPhilly, commenters blame everyone's favorite scapegoat, the PPA, for the store's demise. "The fact that I can drive to Manhattan and easily find on street parking (usually free on weekends) just about anywhere and cannot do that in Philadelphia tells me all we need to know," says one reader. Others argue that if you can afford Burberry, then you can afford to park in a garage — or that you might be better suited to a shopping trip at the KOP Mall.
