The closest thing Philly will get to having its own BHLDN store (for now, at least), the URBN Inc. bridal brand will host its first-ever sample sale on Saturday, January 25, from 10am to 1 pm. The discounts at this event will blow your mind—seriously. Gowns retailing for over $3,500 will be marked down to $300, with a selection of gowns priced as low as $100. Dresses on sale will represent a variety of styles, from modern silhouettes and romantic shorter styles to gowns with BHLDN's signature ethereal, vintage aesthetic. (The event will offer only gowns, no accessories.)
If you're a bride-to-be looking to take advantage of the savings (and really, you'd be crazy not to), here are a few tips for shopping this sale like a real boss: 1) No appointments will be offered, as this is a first-come, first-served event. You'll need to queue up early for the best selection; The Navy Yard opens at 8am. 2) Parking will be available. Head toward Building 3 at the southwest corner of Broad Street and Flagship Drive. 3) There won't be any fitting rooms, so check your inhibitions at the door. Wear the bridal bustier or a bra similar to the one you plan on wearing for the Big Day, and don't forget a pair of heels. 4) We're told there won't be many mirrors to go around, so you may want to bring your own. 5) Credit cards will be the only accepted form of payment. 6) All purchases are final, and dresses will be sold as-is. 7) There's no limit on the number of dresses each person can purchase, but we'd recommend minding your manners and not following the Lilly Pulitzer warehouse sale-style of resale hoarding.
