Your next root touch-up will benefit a good cause if you book an appointment at Laurentius on Sunday, February 9. The Italian Market salon will host a day (9am to 4pm) of fundraising that will benefit Pieter, a two-and-a-half-year-old from salon owner Laurentius Purnama's native Indonesia. Pieter's currently undergoing treatment at Wills Eye Hospital for bilateral sporadic retinoblastoma, a rare form of life-threatening eye cancer that's already claimed one of the little guy's eyes at just two weeks of age. While Pieter's already logged 15 rounds of chemo, Purnama and Pieter's family remains optimistic that they'll be able to raise the additional $25K required to complete Pieter's treatment—and hopefully save his eye.
Laurentius Salon will donate the entire proceeds from February 9th's cuts, colors, blowouts, manicures, and pedicures to Pieter's treatment. What's more, the salon will host a silent auction that will invite bids on prizes that include mint-condition designer bags by Louis Vuitton and YSL. If your beauty game is already on point and you can't make the auction, you can make a donation here.
