OLD CITYTop Chef contestant and chef/co-owner of Queen Village's Ela, Jason Cichonski, is opening a food-forward bar called the Gaslight any day now.

S. AMERICA/THE INTERNETJose Garces jetted down to South America last week for a research trip through Argentina and Uruguay, resulting in some serious food- and travelporn on Instagram. (Sadly, the Argentinian concept he's working on is for D.C., not Philly.)

RITTENHOUSE — If you've been impressed of late by Old City's Fork and High Street on Market, you'll be excited to hear that their owner and chef (Eli Kulp, who was named Eater's 2013 Chef of the Year) are teaming up with the operator of a.kitchen and a.bar at Rittenhouse's AKA hotel.

FISHTOWN — Center City Mexican spot Jose Pistola's, which has recently seen some major improvements under a new chef, now has a Fishtown sibling called Sancho Pistola's. The new space has an expanded menu (more tacos, a raw bar, and more) and a similarly impressive beer selection.
