Breaking news, people! We've got a smoking hot press release in our hands sharing the news that Uniqlo is not only opening in downtown Philadelphia in fall 2014, the Japanese retailer will also open a store location within the King of Prussia Mall. Not only that, the KOP Mall store will open sooner than its Center City counterpart; it's slated for a spring/summer opening. Our minds are blown.
"We are thrilled to announce our newest store openings and are eager to bring the UNIQLO experience to even more communities throughout the United States," said Larry Meyer, CEO of UNIQLO USA and Fast Retailing Group Senior Vice President. "Our universal products, every day basics of exceptional value, world class customer service and modern, bright stores will create a brand new group of UNIQLO fans."
The King of Prussia and Center City locations will mark Uniqlo's first venture into the Philadelphia market. To date, there are 17 Uniqlo stores across the U.S.; eight additional stores (including the two in the Philly area) are slated for 2014.
**Update** (1/7): Uniqlo will open within The Plaza at the King of Prussia Mall in early May 2014. More to come.
