NBA fans, get psyched: Philly's own Mitchell & Ness announced today that it will drop a limited-edition run of authentic Michael Jordan jerseys over the course of nearly three years, each jersey celebrating the basketball star's career highlights.
MJ's 1989 All Star jersey, the first in the series, will premiere on February 14, just in time to be wrapped up in a pretty package for Valentine's Day. Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the 1989 NBA All-Star Game, the $250 jersey will drop online at NBAstore.com and upperdeck.com, but local Jordan fans can scoop it up in person at Mitchell & Ness' flagship store on Chestnut Street. Be forewarned, however: Our contact at the company predicts there will be a "huge demand" for this release, so don't be surprised if you encounter a line out the door.
