Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
An eagle-eyed reader just tipped us off to this Philly.com blog post about the shuttering of Wok, a Chinese food restaurant at 1613 Walnut Street. While the restaurant's only been closed for one day, the space already has a new tenant: Calypso St. Barth. The women's luxury lifestyle brand will take over the two-floor building, which is nestled between American Apparel and Destination Maternity.
Rittenhouse Row Merchant's Association president Larry Steinberg confirms the news, telling us an opening date has yet to be announced, as "substantial construction" needs to be completed first. We've put in an inquiry with Calypso St. Barth, so check back for more info soon.
