It's a sad day for smokers. CVS agrees that the sale of cigarettes is inconsistent with the drugstore's purpose. The company will stop selling smokes and other tobacco products at its 7,600 pharmacies—including 401 Pennsylvania stores—by October 1. [Phila. Business Journal]
