Major Developments Planned for Ardmore's Suburban Square

The Main Line lifestyle/shopping center Suburban Square has heeded the cries of suburbanites demanding more parking, more stores, and more room for navigating red carts around the shopping center's too-small Trader Joe's.

For one, the owner of the center, Kimco Realty, has announced plans for a 3,600- to 3,800-square-foot addition to the rear of Trader Joe's, reports Main Line Media News. Secondly, a three-and-a-half-level parking garage will be built in the heart of the shopping center, paid for (in time) by a new, 26,000-square-foot strip of new retail space. The one-story strip of stores will house an equal mix of "boutique-style, high-end" international, national, and local specialty retailers. Construction for the whole shebang is scheduled to begin early 2015. Stay tuned for updates.
