Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We have a few more tidbits of info regarding Ritual Ritual's upcoming move. In case you missed it, here's what went down last week: Ali McCloud shuttered her seven-year-old boutique, Arcadia, May 23, and it was revealed that Ritual Ritual will be scooping up McCloud's now-empty prime storefront at 819 North Second Street.
The new address comes with more leg room, so Ritual Ritual's Angela Monaco and Dominique Negron tell us that the space will be split in two sections: a retail showroom in the front and a collaborative art studio, the Ritual Ritual Arts Community Hub, in the back. The RRACH will host creative classes (jewelry making! painting!), plus health and wellness workshops.
The move will go down at the end of June, after Ritual Ritual hosts a closing party at their current location at 716 North Third Street. The goal is to be settled in the new location mid-July, giving the shopkeeps plenty of time to prep for the annual 2nd Street Festival, which this year falls on August 3.
