Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
RackedWire is our look at shopping events and other happenings around town. Got an item for us? Operators are standing by at philly@racked.com.
RITTENHOUSE ROW —Chestnut Street's Joan Shepp will host a trunk show from Philly jewelry designer John Wind of John Wind Maximal Art. One of the last events before Joan Shepp's big move, the trunk show will showcase Wind's vintage-modern pieces—perhaps even his best-selling enamel pendants (hint, hint: Mother's Day gift). What's more, Wind will display a small collection of jewelry inspired by the Art Museum's new Patrick Kelly exhibit. The trunk show takes place 10am to 6pm Saturday, May 10. [RackedWire]
EAST PASSYUNK AVE—In what might be the most wholesome boutique-hosted event ever, Occasionette will hold a free jam making demo featuring the expertise of Food in Jars blogger Marisa McClellan. The canning expert will also sign copies of her new book, Preserving by the Pint: Quick Seasonal Canning for Small Spaces. Stop by Occasionette between 5pm and 8pm Saturday, May 10. [RackedWire]
