Imagine a modern-day speakeasy where tattooed hipsters can congregate to compare their mustaches, but instead of swilling a cocktail, they're trying on hats under the sultry glow of Edison bulbs. That's pretty much the gist of Goorin Bros., an American hat haberdashery that's opening soon on Walnut Street.
The 119-year-old producer of bowlers, cloches, fedoras, fascinators, pillbox hats, cadet caps and everything in between is scooping up the storefront recently vacated by MAC Cosmetics, reports Philly gossip photog HughE Dillon. Walnut Street will mark the company's 29th U.S. store—and its first here in Pa., despite the fact that Goorin Bros.' roots can be traced back to a single street cart in Pittsburgh. We've put in a request with Goorin Bros. for the exact opening date, so stay tuned.
**Update 8/12** Reps from the brand tell us that the store will open mid-September 2014.
