Philadelphia has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around Philly that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Jenna Leigh's eponymous, NYC-designed lingerie line could steam up your glasses with its "modern boudoir" sex appeal, but Leigh is a girl's girl who loves cooking, summers at the Jersey shore, and hanging out with her family when she returns home to the Main Line. Here, the designer reveals her seven favorite Philly-area shopping haunts, and discloses a local shopping experience that tops what you'll find in New York.

Anthropologie

I love Anthropologie for home goods, especially its mirrors and rustic furniture. I love to cook, and it has great cook books and cooking supplies, too. The store has such a whimsical and romantic feel.

Barbara Ellick

This store is a tiny little gem in the neighborhood I grew up in. Its filled with stunning jewelry. If you are not in the mood to invest in a big piece of fancy jewelry, they also have costume jewelry and select handbags. Everytime I visit home, I visit here for fun with my mom. They are very friendly and even let me borrow jewelry sometimes to see if I like wearing it before I purchase it.

Barneys New York CO-OP Philadelphia

I am happy Barneys finally opened in Philadelphia. I have been waiting! The Barneys on Walnut is smaller than most, but I prefer it over NYC's Co-Op because there are much less people bumping into you.
This is the nicest high-end store in our city. They have everything from runway dresses and designer shoes, to watches, jewelry, and everyday casual wear. This store is unisex, so I love to go with my husband or dad, because then we can both shop and the other person won't get bored!

Knit Wit

This is my favorite store in the area I grew up in because it's filled with the latest jeans, blouses, dresses, bathing suits, jewelry, cover ups, and everything in between. They also have a location in Margate, NJ, where I spend my summer weekends. After a day on the beach, when the sun goes down, it's fun to walk into this shop.
This store has a lot of charm. It's a happy environment filled with lots of sun, bright colors, and the newest designer finds. I go here for jeans, cocktail dresses, skirts (of course), belts, and tops. You can always find something in here, the prices are pretty good, and it's perfect for a last-minute find to spice up your wardrobe.

Via Bellissima

This is a small store filled with all imported Italian home decor, furniture, and cookware. They have everything from dinnerware, to funky mirrors, candles, picture frames. It's a go-to for gifts for friends--and for yourself. I rarely leave this store empty handed.
